Details
The gold Maple Leaf was launched in 1979 and was the first bullion coin to be produced with a purity of 999.9/1000.
In 2019, in addition to the jubilee coin, the Canadian Mint released another special issue: the Goldmaple Incuse.
Both the Maple Leaf and the portrait of Queen Elizabeth were deeply embossed.
This coin also bears an additional, laser-applied, smaller maple leaf on the Maple Leaf side, which carries within it the last two digits of the year of issue. Again, radial lines give a unique look and create a light diffraction pattern that is specific to this coin.
